it’s officially valentine’s day!

i’m not going to send out individual valentine’s day greetings to people because i know i’d forget someone and that would suck.

and so.

to all of my followers, whether you have a ‘special someone’ in your life or not:

today is a day for love. but, if you’re single, i don’t want you to get down on yourself or be even the slightest bit bitter. because it isn’t just a day for roses or heart-shaped boxes of chocolates or big teddy bears, no. those are things that people sell to make money on this holiday. today is about love. it’s about that warm, cozy feeling you get when you’re around a lover or a best friend or your sister. it’s about how comfortable you feel around those people. it’s about thinking, “i’m happy that you’re here.” it’s about loving yourself and surrounding yourself with things you love and people you love.

so do something today that makes you happy. drink some of your favorite cocoa. eat your favorite ice cream or a slice of cake. watch your favorite movie. and try to do these things with the people you love, be they friends, family, or otherwise. have a tinychat with your friends online. skype your long-distance boyfriend or girlfriend. tell your parents you love them. go out for a drink with your favorite friends. light a candle that smells good and read your favorite book.

do things you like with the people that you love.

and remember:

i’m happy that you’re here.
